Well, I went to the local builder's supply store today and picked up some more peel and seal to deaden and seal up my doors a little better. 33.5 foot by 1 foot roll...the price on the shelf said $35.99, so i was thinking that for a dollar a foot, i should just buy the real stuff online (even though I have a roll of it in my trunk and it has worked perfectly, even on the trunk lid). Well, I wanted to get it done so I took it up to the register. There was no tag or anything on the roll, so the lady at the register was trying to search for it in the system. She passes by 12" x 33.5' aluminum roofing roll or something like that for $35.99. Then she called up the manager, and he tells her what to search for. Comes up for $17.84 after tax. I just looked at the sheet and it looks like they charged me for a 6" wide roll of "peel n' patch". Well anyway, I got one door done, but I got a little carried away and had too much on there to get the door panel back on. Luckily I was able to get some off without too much trouble. There is still a little too much pressure on the locking mechanism with the panel on, so the lock button inside the car doesn't move all the way, but the door still locks/unlocks, so I'm going to deal with it for now.

It was in the roofing section without any packaging where I got it. I still had to ask someone at the counter to find it. Anyway, I finished the other door and I am very pleased with the results to say the least! I also added non hardening clay to the speaker baffle while I was in there. My mids are really pumping now...soon to be more wattage as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I started to use the carpet I was throwing out today, I cut it up into sections and cleaned the door and all, but the adhesive I was using did not quite work, so I decided against that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

nice score. but i would not have used roofing material.
I was worried too, but I have had the same stuff on my trunk lid upside down for over a year now...no smell, no peeling off...I live in a fairly mild climate though. On the few 100+ degree days that we get per year it gets a little bit softer than normal, but nothing that has gotten me worried. And for ~50 cents per sq foot i have no complaints if it falls off after a few years.
