Full System Suggestions Anyone?

I'm about to purchase a new system for a Chevy Silveraldo 1500 Extended Cab(1998)......anybody have any suggestions on what to get? I've heard that JL subs are supposed to be the best. I'm looking to spend anywhere in the neighborhood of $600-900. More than likely I'm going to get the Pioneer 7700 MP for CD player or Alpine 9851 or 9153...........in about a week or so I'm going to go ahead and spend about $300 what should I get first(subs, cd player, amp, or what?) Also, the wattage, etc for good system with nice bass. I went to this one audio shop this guide told me $1500........I wouldn't pay that much for a system I would just go buy some rims.
