Full system setup

I'm lookin to purchase a full system in a month and was wondering what all I should get.

I've already decided to get an Alpine CDE-100 Head unit but I'm not sure what else to get. I want as much of it to be JL as possible.

Speakers are already covered but I'm looking at one sub vs two, what size of amp or more than one, size of sub, tweeter placement etc

its all for a stock 2002 toyota corolla CE

any advice is welcome

Just whereI'm getting it from, the guys I chill with are JL gung ho and its rubbed off. There logo is also the best loooking I find. I prefer JL but it doesnt all have to be

JL will be more geared towards SQ than loudness, it will also be quite expensive.

my experience you can get a lot more bang for you buck going with something other than jl.

what budget are you looking at, and how much power

Cost really isn't that much of a concern

Right now Im looking at about 300-500 for a full setup

I also have a bit of a discount at the shop and am prob going to buy some used stuff

So, one sub vs two. One larger sub will be more cost effective.

As for the amp for your sub woofer. Get a single mono channel amp that has an RMS rating higher than the sub, that will be most effective.

Nope, that would be considered SQL, it is what most people shoot for with their systems.

what does SQL stand for?

I can't go bigger than 12" because of the shape and size of my trunk, I won't be able to fit a box in if I go any bigger

The box isn't a problem, I can easily make one

Okay.

I'd get one of these four channel amps (JL Audio HD600/4 Amplifiers - Car Audio Amps & Amplifiers) and use the two front channels for a pair of components and the rear two channels for a sub to keep things simple.
