Full low budget system replacement

So I have an 89 Chrysler fifth avenue with a stock system in it. I really want to get a new setup but I have a few questions.

Ive already chosen my head unit. I'm getting the boss 840ubi, or the 835ubi. It depends on if I REALLY want Bluetooth or not.

however the speakers are another thing. I don't want to reroute the wiring, so I need 6x9s in the rear deck and 3.5s in the dash. Mostly I need to know if the connections to the current speakers are the same as what will be on the new speakers. I also need to know if speakers in the rear deck have any sort of "disadvantages" (for lack of a better word).

Also, I've seen all sorts of things about 2way vs 3way, but what about 4 & 5 way speakers? Are they a marketing scam that should be ignored or would a 5 way 6x9 have higher sound quality than a 3 way?

Im also looking to keep it under 300 dollars if I can. Any suggestions on products would be great! Thanks.

Heres a bunch of stuff I'd recommend based off my experiences from product performance, customer service and reliablity. I'm only using 1 site so it would be a good idea to shop around for the lowest possible price but these will definitely point you in the right direction. These would be very reliable and would have far better sound quality than any Boss product and you'll still have a few bucks left over too:

Headunits:

Clarion CZ101 In-Dash CD, MP3 Stereo w/ Front Panel Auxiliary

JVC KD-S26 CD/MP3/WMA Car Stereo w/ 3.5mm Front Panel Aux In

JVC KD-HDR40 (KDHDR40) Car Stereo w/ HD Radio & Front AUX Input

JVC KD-R525 (KDR525) In-Dash DIN CD Receiver w/ Front USB & Aux

3.5s:

Polk Audio db351 3-1/2" 2-way Speakers (Marine Certified) (db 351)

Boston Acoustics S35 S Series 3-1/2" 2-way Speakers (S-35)

JL Audio TR350-CXi (tr350cxi) 3-1/2" Evolution TR Series 2-way

6x9s:

MB Quart DKG 169 Discus Series 6x9 2-way Car Speakers (DKG169)

Alpine SPS-619 (SPS619) 6" x 9" 3-Way Type-S Coaxial Car Speakers

Pioneer TS-A6974R (TSA6974R) 6" x 9" 500W 3-Way Car Speakers

Boston Acoustics S953 6" x 9" S Series 3-way Car Speakers (S-953)

Boston Acoustics SC95 6" x 9" SC Series High Performance, Low-

Infinity 9632cf 6" x 9" 2-way Reference Series Speakers

JL Audio TR690-TXi 6" x 9" TR Car Speakers w/ Sound Dampening

JBL GTO938 6" x 9" (GTO-938) Car Loud Speakers w/ Sound Dampening

And anything above 3 way is really just a marketing trick. I was never able to tell a difference between 3,4 and 5 way.

So my last message didn't go through... Thanks for your help. I've decided on the infinity 6x9s and the Boston 3.5s, however I looked elsewhere for the head and decided on the Pioneer deh-1200mp and was wondering what you thought about it. I also need to know how the speakers will connect. If the stock connections are the same and if not how I would connect those. Thanks again for your help.

Well I know I don't have the infinity system. I really don't have he technical know how to do the wiring, nor do I have the money to have someone else do it. A good friend actually just told me all about the wiring and told me that chances are that the connections will be the same as long as I keep it 2way. Don't know if that's accurate, but he told me that the connections currently in the car are pretty standard.

I would personally go with a better headunit. No offense but Boss products are terrible quality and dont last long at all. When you install the new speakers you usually have to cut off the factory clips and just strip the wire and use a new connector.
My dad is running a boss marine cd player on 2 poly planar marine speakers in his boat going on 3 years now and its a **** good deck. The stuff for the car just blows , but the marine stuff is surprisingly stout.

I'd go with one of these amps:

Crunch P1-600.2 600W A/B Class 2-Channel Power One Series Car System Amplifier

MB Quart FX2.60 Formula Series 240 Watt 2 Channel Car Amplifier

Crunch P1-1000.2 1000W A/B Class 2-Channel Power One Series Car Amplifier

Autotek ATX1000.2 1000W 2 Channel Amplifier Amplifier

this sub:

Infinity REF1260W 12" Single 4 ohm Reference Series Subwoofer

I used to have 2 of those on a crunch p1500.1 in a sealed box and they sounded very good. This is one of my favorite woofers for under$100. At that price its a steal. There is no other sub for that price that will even come close to it as far as performance and reliability.

You should be able to find a used single 12 sealed box on craigslist for less than $20.

And don't forget about the wiring kit for the amp.
