ok

here's the deal

i know im a noob lets get that out of the way

i also dont have the best grammar on the internet but who does anyway lol

so right now i have a planned audio system.

Amp Install Kit 4 Gauge

Amplifier

5 1/4 Rear Speakers

6 1/2 Front Speakers

Dual 4 OHM Voice Coil Subwoofer

Ok now for the car

Scion xB First gen thats pretty much all there is to it, all years of the first gen are almost identical

Questions

1) Can i wire the sub to the box for a final output of 2ohm impedance?

2) According to Pioneer, the amp kit comes with the required stuff to install the amp to stock radio. Does this work?

3) Can i use original mounting hardware for speakers?

4) Where can i bolt the sub enclosure and the amp so they wont move at all during travel?

5) Where can i find 4 gauge self adjusting wire strippers and crimpers for easier wiring?

6) What can i fill the box with for deeper bass (CHEAP PREFERABLY) and how do i go about filling it?

7) Is a stock battery and charging system OK for this setup?

8) If not, can you please direct me to a good cheap battery and good cheap upgraded alternator?

9) How to hide sub from thieves?

10) How to position ported enclosure for best bass going to front?

thanks all your help is appreciated if u can please direct to write ups for applicable questions

thanks again

1. yes, just parallel the coils inside the box.

2. the amp has high level input capability so you need to run speaker wire from the head unit to the sub amp (speaker wires for left and right)

3. no, the stock speakers are mounted on a plastic housing that will leave with the speakers. you will need to either buy or make adapters (if you buy from Crutchfield they will include adapters for mounting and wiring)

4. you can hide the amp under the rear seats, screwed to a board that is screwed to the floor. The box needs to allow access to spare tire and accessories, but you could secure it to the rear folding seat and it would lift out of the way when you fold the rear seat down.

5. you won't find them. Radio Shack has adjustable wire strippers good for 24AWG-10AWG. above that you use a razor (box knife).

6. I use Ultratouch insulation available at Home Depot. it is based on recycled denim and is cheap (

7. yes. there isn't a lot of power needs, though you may notice dimming of headlights. The Big 3 is always a good idea.

8. "good" and "cheap" are not hand-in-hand. A good AGM battery will run you $150-$200.

9. & 10. you could use a custom enclosure under the rear seat but it won't sound very good. rear firing in the rear corner is going to sound the best.

KHA 2008 Scion xB - Alpine/Oz Audio/Xtant/ID
build log for a Scion xB build I did for a buddy. should give you some good ideas - it sounded awesome and that single 10" was often mistaken for a pair of 12's.

we bought everything used for under $400.

your selections are pretty low quality. buying used would be a better use of your funds.
I love new things. I've never bought anything used. I've already considered all of the stuff, I know its not the best dj quality but i dont need that. I just want some bang and this fits the bill. For the amp and the sub those are both ok as the sub is 400rms and the amp puts out 500rms

As for the speakers, anything is an upgrade to factory.
