i'm not gonna call you a racist, but when people grow up poor, there is gonna be more crime. a lot of people see drugs as a way to make money, and eventually get into them and all hell breaks loose. i grew up in some pretty bad areas. probably even worse then anything in new orleans, and when people don't have anything, they look to crime to solve things. i'm not justifying what they do, but i don't think they that they turn to crime because they are black, but because they are poor.

Granted, it very well could be a long string of bad sh*t that made these people act like they do, and just coincidently they are black. It's also given that there were white people doing the same thing. I think it's more a matter of how they were raised.

In the northern US, a million people see this and think "Savage black people"

In the rest of the world, people see this and think "Savage Americans"

Just another quick point, my fiancée’s family is Indian but they come from Trinidad. Even there, in a society free of the white oppressors the people of Indian descent are the successful hardworking class while the people of African descent are the poorest and cause huge amounts of crime. A color barrier exists between the two classes even though the difference between the shades in skin is hardly negligible. It's interesting to see that anywhere in the world where people of African descent exist they are the poor, lazy, and the root of crime. Maybe they decided that 400 years ago their ancestors worked hard enough so they will stop working.

It's also interesting to learn that some of the most intelligent and inspiring education and philosophical work came from sub-Sahara Africa. The Greeks use to send their wealthy children to learn from some of the far more knowledgeable African tribes. Hell they built half of the Pyramids. Anyway this is all just an observation.

thanks chinny and raven for the donation thought but i don't like things given to me and I'd much rather earn my own money, no disrespect but thats just my morals.

Alpine... no i didn't go yet, I'm going to apply at sears in the automotive section in a few hours.

Just a point on donations... Yeah, it is great to donate but let's face it, the money is there and everyone has given a lot. Let's try to find other ways to help too. I donated money and feel like I didn't do a thing. Money helps but there are way more/better ways for people to help. I have family from NO and their house was fine (had electricity, not flooded... only minor property damage) I did not even give my own family money. I did pay for part of their plane tickets to come up here and they are living with me for free. Just one way people can help.

Let's find some other ways to help. We are Americans... and we would be helping Americans so lets do what we can. I'm getting sick of people who gave money and think they are perfect people... there's so much more.

Alright Decipha, ive got an idea for you to get your life back on the right track... (its good to hear that you are ok) You are only 17 years old. You should try to go to a school around you, whether its a community school or university and see if they would be able to give you some financial help, say you want to go to their school, along with that they would offer you a place to live for the semester.

Im sure there has got to be some places like that around that would offer you housing for a little bit.

As far as the stories ive read that are going on down there...im speechless, sounds like a bunch of low life people who dont give a shit if people help them our or not for the most part. Someone else on here posted something that they went to the superdome to help out, and said that NOBODY was appreciative of the help they were getting!

I read that article that dude was an idiot.. and i doubt he even dealt with 1% of the people stuck in the astrodome.. he sounded like he wanted his dick sucked for helping...
