selenium last alottttttttttt longer and get wayyy louder then whip audio...i have had both and i stuck with seleniums.... IMO...i blew a couple and i know i few friends that blew alottt of whip audio and they ended up going with seleniums....oh yeah 6inch seleniums ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am waiting to get time and refiberghlass my front doors and put the 8's in there...8's and up in seleniums are the shit!!!!!!!!!!
Seleniums don't "last longer".They have more of a rolled surround and handle the midbass a little better, but if you and your friends blew them all the time then that is a flaw in the install, not the speaker.I ran 12 of these for well over a year with each of them getting 105 watts exactly, as tuned in with an oscilloscope, and never blew one.We used to have an Eminence 6 in one side of the sound board and the Whip in the other side and you could walk back and forth while listening to them playing and the Whips were noticeably much clearer. Not near as much of a fuzzy sound to it and they get extremely loud while retaining that clarity.Good speakers here and for a good price.

Good speakers here, I purchased a pair of 10" Whip mids off ebay a while back, and were some of the loudest, but suprising cleanest sounding mids I had ever owned. I had the pair bridged off my Sundown 125.2 and they were quite impressive. I did blow them, however that was user error, crossing them too low (testing the low end of the speakers) however, I still like them and would recommend them to anyone considering pro audio. Good deal here folks.

Thanks. How low did you cross the 10s?
I had them down sub 100hz, between 80 and 63hz, (cant remember) but honestly I knew better, but wanted to know the limits of these types of speakers...this was the first set of pro audio drivers I had ever heard in person. Im sure crossed at 160hz to 200hz with a nice steep slope, they would have been fine. I like the way they sounded though, very loud and clear. Heavy too, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
