The 2-ohm dual voice coil structure is designed to maximize amplifier performance and provide more system hook-up options. The coils themselves contribute to this woofer's brute force — they are more than 2 inches long, enabling the cone to travel 50 percent further than in Punch HX2 series subwoofers.
The vented plate helps the sub handle temperatures of more than 400 degrees without distortion, while the Santoprene rubber surround withstands all types of adverse weather. In all, it's an amazing blend of sound quality and unadulterated power.
Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. Most car amplifiers are stable down to 2 ohms in standard mode, or 4 ohms in bridged operation.
