Dont know how this will work out since Ive made alot of enemys on here and so forth, but ill try it! Ill ship first, and everything. So anyways I have one of my Memphis 4kws left, this one was in my buddies demo build for his shop, hes a memphis dealer, used very very little maybe 20min of play time at most, did a couple shows with it thats it. Had it hooked to two Memphis 08 mojos at 1ohm, never dropped below 13.5volts. The amp was clalmped at one of the comps at 4460wrms @1ohm at 13.8volts, and these are .5ohm stable. Still have all orginal boxes, manuals, plastics, will have the full memphis 2 year warranty also! Gunna ask $660shipped, which is cheap for a pretty much brand spanken new one, I have seen used ones go for that much!! Trades welcome!

edit:Ill get pics up as soon as I can, the wind is making my sat. internet really slow, and cant upload on photobucket.

At 1.5 ohm your electrical will be fine. but to answer your question on a more efficient amp? yes in a sense but no not really because you have to have power to make power. i had 4 4kw's at 1 ohm each thats why i needed some awesome electrical. You only have 1 amp so you should be fine with what you have.
To check your impedence rise put your dmm to like you would normally check your coils and put it on peak hold if u are capable and do your burp or music whichever you prefer. it should show what your impedence went up too and keep it there. If you dont have peak hold just watch the meter when u burp or have a friend look at it. Usually takes a few different DMM's to do a legit voltage/wattage/impedence readings.

If i was you i would try the amp out since you already have it and see how it fairs for you. everyone has different results and it shows by different people posting what they have got out of the amp on this thread.

It sux we are dumping in his thread but it gets the info out there on what amps can and cannot due which is the point of the forum.

notes*

- You have enough electrical to run this amp at 1.5 ohm.

- Try this amp and if you arent happy go elsewhere.

- Everyone has different results because everyones electrical is different which is a big factor when it comes to power coming out of an amp.

- No matter what amp you use when your impedence rise is high and voltage drops low then you are not going to see much power out of any amp.
I promise man not trying to pick a fight. only correcting so people don't do this

You do NOT ... repeat DO NOT do what he just said to check imp rise. You are NOT suppose to have any voltage to a circuit when you have your DMM to set to ohms it can cause serious damage to meter and most likely won't give accurate reading. the true way to get imp rise is to clamp test it and get amperage and voltage. and divide the voltage by the amperage.... So if 40 amps 60 volts. your imp rise is 1.5 ohms

i fail u win //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif aint ashamed if im wrong all the time lol. at least i know i can get loud of little knowledge

BUT i did learn something.

hooked on phonics worked for me.

I didn't win. nobody wins. just hopefully there is always something to be learned from anything. we will call it a draw fair enough lol. Anyways. that is what this forum is here for.... to learn.... But most people use it as a bragging site or a site to make fun of others

Well got a few pics of the amp kinda looking to trade it more than anything, I dont really need the money, my MTX build is paid for, just want to trade this for other amps if theres any out there 3kw or bigger, or nice matching amps like a sub and 4ch amp, or a pair of nice sub amps!

This was in the comp car. The owner of this car is the Memphis dealer where this amp came from!

These pics are of the amp at my house!

Pic of the Memphis 500amp fuse block, the Box and all that is still at the shop, he had to do a warranty so used the box quick like, but its back just have to get it when the amp is ready to ship, if it needs to be!

any amp on this power level needs a beefy *** electrical to even keep it above 12v. measuring at 10v and 3.8ohm rise you're obviously going to get some shitty readings. no one should buy this amp or any amp like this without the proper electrical backing and expect power that isn't there.
for a few months i carefully ran my 4kw off a 220amp alt, 2 runs of 1/0, and only a g34 yellowtop up front. i would never let it get under 12v and ran it 12v all day long, rarely would get warm. but i can see how 16v and .5ohm would makem get hot. but out of 5 memphis amps ive ever ran the hell out of, i've never had one that wasnt near bulletproof to thermal limits. great amp imo

I never let my orion's see below 13volts just because I'm anal over low voltage.
