since the focus runs a 12v battery and 12v alt stock how will the 14.5 volt alt effect this?

no no, the voltage when the car is running is 13.8-14.5 roughly this is a health charging state for a 12 volt battery when the car if off the battery should sit around 12.6v...... this will not increase voltage so to speak..... but the current or amps need to supply all of your power sources and with having that it will stabilize the voltage... that answer it?
