Frozen Subwoofer Testing Results

Good info............I could send you a 12" L7 to mess around with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
i'll take it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The stuff inside those cans is just tetrafluroethane. That's your common R-134a refrigerant.
Gay. I though the boiling point would be below 200k at least.

So use liquid methane and dont light a match. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Interesting, I didn't figure that the impedance would drop that low when the temperature drops.
If you could cool the copper coil cold enough you would have a theoretic DC resistance of 0ohm and therefor all impeadance would be above where inducance begins to take an effect.

we used to cram our motors full of dry ice at shows..

gained a good bit from it.. due to the impedence shift..

that was back in the days when I had a port I could fit in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I thought the common problem from the freezing air was from condensation buildup on the VC from it being hot/cold/hot/cold quickly.

I say, run it tomorrow for a while, let it sit outside all night, then pull it apart and take a look at the VC

water isn't an issue..

the wire is annodized... which is a non conductive material.. stick anything on the coil you like.. as long as the annodization isn't rubbed off, and wire doesn't touch wire.. it'll keep playing...

I completely soaked a paper towel from removing moisture from the exterior of the motor during / after the 8 hour freeze test... notta issue.. at all
