I currently have a set of Cadence CS2.65K. The specs for them are...

 • RMS Power Handling: 60 Watts per Speaker
 • PEAK Power Handling: 120 Watts per Speaker // 240 Watts per System
 • Frequency Response: 65Hz - 20 kHz
 • SPL @ 1w/1m: 90dB
 • System Impedance: 4-Ohm
 • Magnet Weight: 20 oz
 • Structure Weight: 40 oz
 • Cutout Diameter: 5.75"
 • Mounting Depth: 2.44"

I would like to have something better. Budget is about $150. What is the consensus on running the SoundQubed QP-TH25 "SuperTweeter" with the QP-MR6.5 Mids? This will be a significant improvement, good bang for the buck?

... and then the newb question. How do I hook them up together? Will be using an amp with them.

Thanks for suggestions/input!

I looked Into the soundqubed stuff as well. My findings were if you just want really loud they would be good. But not great sound quality. If you want sound quality stick to components. You would have to make a crossover or at least put a capacitor I believe on the tweeter to cut the low frequencies out if you ran the soundqubed. I don't know if the tweeters include a capacitor or not

Before you spend any more money you should try to figure out what things make different speakers better for you. What has drawn you to these PA style mids and tweeters? At this point it just looks like you want something loud, like jstaguy24 was getting at. Is that what you want?

Yup pro audio is normally just for loud, unless you do a proper job of installing, acoustical treatments/deadening, tuning with good head unit/DSP along with adequate amplifier power, you are not gonna get great sound quality out of PA equipment. They can sound great but a lot of work needs to be done and a lot of good equipment is needed to make it happen.
@trumpet. I saw these on your site in my price range.

CDT Audio MX-6CV - Easy Way Electronics

These are 120RMS each? How will these compare to my current Cadence listed above? I have no rear fill and Cadence A7+HC amp/HDS312 sub going in.
The power rating requires a 120 Hz high pass filter setting. If you need the speakers to play more bass the power handling will go down a bit. I'm not familiar with your Cadence speakers but they look cheaply made, as you'd expect for speakers that can be found online for under $40. MX-6CV is a nice upgrade from those.

@trumpet. Thanks for the info. Not sure where I pulled 120W RMS from. The site says 160W. I understand what you mean though.

I see the site says 2 Ohm available as well. Do you stock these?

Normally we do but I'm out right now. They can be shipped from the factory directly to you if needed, for no extra charge.

I've never heard any cadence to compare. The jbl p660c also comes in 2 ohm. They get insanely loud and still sound great at high volumes. Probably my favorite speaker to date to crank without distortion.
