I installed a Pioneer HU for a friend of mine.
Her front speakers didn't work with the factory HU, and they still don't work with the new HU. Thought I might get lucky and have that fix the problem.
So, my question is: What would be the best way to fix this problem:
1) Try to dig through the factory wiring and find out if there is a short or break somewhere, and attempt to repair it?
or
2) This is my vote: Splice in a new length of wire from the harness to the speakers themselves, bypassing the factory wiring?
Also, if #2 is the way to go, is just plain old Home Depot 18ga. speaker wire ok to use in this application?
Thanks to anyone with input! Gonna be workin' on this next weekend.
