i'm getting ready to go active and i need some help. i've got 2 mtx amps. ones a 'something' thunder, does 50x2rms, and the other one is i forget, but its shiny, and does 60x2rms. my friend has an older fosgate looks like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Rockford-Fosgate-Punch-200a4-tested-fully-working_W0QQitemZ330142513130QQihZ014QQcategoryZ39739QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but the bottom says 50x4 would it be worth it to try and get it? i've heard the older fosgates were underrated...but by how much?

Depends on if you already have the processing required to go active. IIRC the RF won't have the x-overs needed for this, though the MTXs might but I'm not certain. The old RF punch amps are great amps, I've had a 160a2 for many years (first amp I bought actually) and it is definitely a performer, I'd say it does at least rated power, possibly more.

You already have the two MTX amps, correct? Why not give those a try and see if you like it, if you aren't satisfied then you could always swap to something else.
