Front + Rear off of a 2 channel?

Any cons to running your front speakers off of one channel and the rear off of the other on a 2 channel amp. Besides the obvious, being you'll have a little less control over the level of each speaker. I have some RSD65cs components up front. Some Pioneer Rev 6x9's in the back and a ZX350.2 amp to run them all. ZX350.2 is rated at 175x2@2 ohms, so all 4 speakers would see a decent amount of power, just wondering if the 2 channel will be fine or if I should get a 4 channel.

110 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (175 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms)

You don't want to do that unless you want your front comps to be the right channel and your rear coaxs to be the left channel.

Power the RSd's off the amp and the REVs off the HU. ...or get a 4 channel amp.

Thanks guys. I knew front would be right and rear left, just wondering if it was a bad idea for any reason besides that. I'll just hook it up to the components to start and see how I like the sound. Thanks for the replies.

You could run them FR/RR and FL/RL and keep the right/left bias. It would sound better than putting rears left, fronts right. If you have people ride in the back often, it would be the way to go.

I know I am in the minority here, but I prefer to have rear fill for many reasons. First I often have passengers in the rear, and second I actually think it sounds better in my truck. (just my opinion people, I am not right or wrong)

That might work if he clipped the tweeter leads on the rears... otherwise it's just going to drag his image too far to back. And, if his rear speakers are more sensitive than his fronts, he will have a rear-biased sound stage.
The suggestion to run fronts off the amp and the rears off the HU was the best option so far...

You can run both off the amp and tone down the rears by wiring a 2 or 4 ohm resistor in series with the rear speakers and then paralleling the front speaker and rear speaker/resistor combo on each side. The resistor will attenuate the rear speaker and still allow the front speaker to play normally.
