Front End Defeat ?

Front End Defeat: The Front End Defeat is used to reroute the input signal around the signal processing circuitry within the amplifier. While in the On position, all gain and crossover functions are bypassed. This feature was designed for use with external processors to provide the purest possible signal path through the amplifier.

Can someone translate this to me,but in a more laic way =) I leared all my English whilst watching the Simpsons, thus i have difficulties understanding this =))

Bypassed to where? To what? To my HU? What does that mean bla bla.. I have a Pioneer DEH P88RS..

So is that a good thing or a bad thing lol? I mean should i turn it on or off?

I am using that amp for my subwoofer.

Also is it better to set LPF and HPF via HU,or via amp? And if i understood u correct,if i lets say turn LPF on 80hz via HU,and then turn front defeat ON,that LPF wont count? Its gonna be set to default?

Is the amp an MB Quart ?

Anyways....it means the input signal being fed to the amplifiers will bypass all of the gain and crossover circuits in the amplifier, "theoretically" allowing for a "cleaner" signal. The gain control and crossover features in the amplifier will no longer be usable because they will be bypassed.

If it is an MB Quart QAA series, I would only use this feature if you are using a line driver. The input sensitivity for the amplifier is no longer adjustable (because the gain control is bypassed), so you need a VERY strong input signal going into the amplifier.
