OK first off this post is make sure that he will not be hittin harder than me when I build this for him,I know he will sound better.But he said hehas 1000 buck,and if he doesnt have to spend all of it that would be great.I am think maybe 4 IA 187 12's ported,bout 150 a piece right? And they 300 rms so 300 x 4 =1200 watts and they are dual 2 ohms so wired in parallel series to a Viper d1200.1 refurb would do the trick right.I think that would be a great daily setup.

Now for the real question will he be louder that my set up that I am building 4 12 L5? All the subs will have 2.5 cuft each(The IA's and L5's)And my subs will be powered by an Orion 2500d at 1 ohm.

These are some big boxes, what does your friend drive, what do you drive? Are your l5’s ported?

I am sure you will be louder, you have twice as much power. But probably not by as much as you would think, having power advantage over him.

As far as who’s system will be better, I would go with your friends. It will sound so much better, and more reliable subs. if I were to choose 4 l5’s or 4 187’s I would probably go with the 187’s. 4 of anything is going to give you some competition though, and it will probably come down to install.

first off, those subs need a bit more power from the reviews i've read. (meaning the 187's)
