Friend needs help

series (8ohm mono load for 2 svc subs)(will only see half the output of the amp)

The amp is a stereo amp putting out 100w x 2 @ 4ohms if he just ran one sub off of each channel he would get more watts than the examples shown here. The subs are single voice coil models of the Infinity refrence 1220w. What my suggestion was to bridge the amp giving him a rated output of 300w x 1 @ 4ohms @ 12.9v input. what I was trying to find out would the series wiring of these two 4 ohm speakers be better. Would it make that much of a diffrence.
