So what im getting from this thread is that redtops are sh#tty for car audio purposes? I just bought 2 for camping and im now selling my camping vehicle and was hoping to use my redtops for car audio purposes. This sucks.

BTW anyone want to buy my red tops?

I bought RT's because they were cheap at only $150 each. I used them when camping a few times without issue. I still would start my truck every few hours just to top them back up. Now my problem is in order to fit a larger battery in there I need to make a new box probably. Going to turn the alt down tonight to under 15 volts. Glad I have a fire extinguisher in my truck because I thought I was going to need it there.

Ordered a Deka 9A31 and will also be replacing the RT under the hood to a Deka 78. Don't want to chance it if I have damaged the RT already. Set the alt down to 14.5 volts as well. if you have them use them unless you get $ that you want from them...just dont try to use in a deep cycle operation
