Fried my Audiopipe Apsm-1500 - Got a few questions

bad ground and fried the power supply fets, amp really isnt worth fixing as it will cost 80-100 bucks to repair. you need to find a better ground. make sure you sandpaper the grounded area and bolt it down to bare metal. I actually have mine bolted down to the wheel well metal and then under the car i ran a shore 0 guage to the frame. if you dont ground prop, you will keep blowing amps

sub was prob barely moving also because you wired that hdc3 at 2.5 ohm and with rise the thing was getting under 1000rms on that amp. save some money and buy a better amp to you dont have to puish the amp to death where its ******* power like crazy

Burned fets due to a bad ground. I could tell you had no business installing as soon as you said you wiggled a wire and the amp came back on. Probably was barely grounded properly, you probably wrapped it around a factory bolt or some ****.
It was the power wire that was lose. We fixed that too. Also the grounds are fine everyone said so on the last thread I posted. I sanded the chassis frame and drilled a hole in it, and put the ground on that.

I'll keep that in mind, but you say warranty so you think this was prolly a manufacture defect? I already sent one amp back because I had the wire wrong, no way they'd take it again. I'll just have to spend 120$ on another. :\
honestly no way to tell. ive had a few defective apsm-4080s and then 5 1500s that have worked flawlessly.Id need more details of your setup to diagnose the issue

ok good, i would still invest in a korean made amp like the lanzar and give the hdc3 the power it wants which is 1500rms plus
Ya know I'd be totally cool with that if my amps worked. I just blew one why would I want to get a more expensive one so I can blow it and then have none.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

you had your sub output maxed because the amp wa shaving a hard time
yeah at 1kw it hardly moved the sub. Idk how 1500 watts would move it?

thats why i recomended the lanzar as its a solid korean amp that will be built with better parts than the ap's, the ap's put out rated power but have inferior parts.

NEW American Bass HD12D2 HD Series Sub 12" Dual 2 OHM Car 3000W Audio Subwoofer | eBay

aq hdc3 subs are entirely underrated and anyone with them will tell you they need 1500rms, the ameican bass hd is the same exact sub and is rated at 1500 100 percent the same

If you correctly ground your amp you will be fine, the lanzar is a more solid amp and you will get to lower your gains on your headunit and bump better, much betetr choice than wasting 130 on a new ap1500

is 70 bucks worth being dissatisfied and clipping your sub by maxing out the gains and then blowing your sub in the long run. imr eally trying to save you money in the long run and to be happy with a matching amp still under 200 bucks.

Op buy a hu with 8v outs and you can keep your gain at minimum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
