Fried my Audiopipe Apsm-1500 - Got a few questions

Alright guys I got a update! So i got my brz1200.1D and now I can officially (i think atleast) say that the AP was a manufacturer defect. I put the brz on the exact same way, and it's doing fine. It doesn't smoke wooooo! Lol. That's the good news. Bad news is this thing is not very powerful in comparison with the apsm. It should be kicking out same wattage (900 @ 2 ohms) as the Apsm. I have it cranked up to 2v which matches my preamp voltage from my HU and it hits barely as good as my last system. The apsm would flex my window with this sub.. This BRZ barely moves my necklace on my rear view mirror. I even had to put the dreaded bassboost on this amp up a little to make it a little enjoyable bass wise. Although I'm glad its not smoking.. Its performance is less than average I feel like, at least for the amount of power it is putting out. Any idea's? Also, I think my HU goes up to 40-50 volume wise and I can only get it up to about 20-21 before my little speakers start distorting. Should I get a midrange and tweeter little speakers so I can turn them all the way up and maybe that will make this amp start performing right? Maybe it's not good because it's not getting up high enough volumes? The apsm had much more powerful feel, and rattled my stuff a lot

Wyy not set your gains with the volume at 20?
I did.

Turn off the bass boost, buddy. Ignore the little numbers on the gain dial, too. Just set it with the dmm.
How come its not nearly bumping like the apsm?

It will if it's 900@2 ohms. Just set your gains with the dmm.
The dial is 9v which is lowest and .2v which is highest gain. I have it set on 2v. Which is nearing the maximum gain. Anything lower is just bad. I have my subwoofer output on 11 instead of 15 for less distortion.

Rode home and the amp is getting warm like it's working.. Just weak tho. I turned bass boost off and I will set it with a dmm later.. Can I set it with just regular rap music instead of the 50hz tone? I don't wanna take my subwoofer wires out of the amp lol I'm lazy. Also I forget don't you put the leads on negative and positive terminals?

I turned it up some to like 26 (of course my little speakers were distorting to ****) and the sub hits way better like that. The higher I put the volume up on my HU, the louder the sub gets and at 26 it starts actually bumping a little.

So what do you guys think I should do first, get some 2way tweeters with no bass and put them in my car so I can turn my HU up a lot more without the bass distorting them, then see how my amp performs? Or just send it back and get something more powerful?

you set the meter on ac volts, and yes, pos. and neg speaker terminals. if you really ant to know, you can measure the same coming out of the rcas. i'm sure you will find it under a volt. if your speakers are sounding bad, that is what you are feeding the rcas as well, also, i do not advise cranking your mids and highs to get more bass. that will just damage your hearing. i'm sure you will find it needing more gain to match the output voltage. i do not remove the subs to set the gains, so i can measure what is coming out, but some do, and you need to on a sensing amp (which you don't have). it just may get loud playing the tone, and yes, use a tone, not music. music goes all over the place at different constantly changing levels, so the meter can't really lock on to it. i would try with the sub adjustment on the head under 10 first, and be sure not to have any bass bost on/up, and keep the bass in the middle, or +0

Should've bought my BRZ1700

Should've bought my BRZ1700
I would've but I wasn't sure if it was my setup burning amps, or just AP being a POS. Now I know. lol

So I can play a 50hz tone through my sub and not damage it? Or should I just be cautious and take the speaker wires outta the terminals?

I know people can turn their stereo's up to like 40 and stuff mine only goes to 20 before distortion starts up. The higher I crank my stereo tho the more bass I get.. Of course the more distortion I get form my 6x8's :\

told ya 2 buy a more powerful amp or a better one
Something isn't right tho, this amp should push this sub just like the AP amp, they are the same wattage @ 2 ohms, and the AP amp was plenty enough bass for me, flexing my window is plenty. So this amp should be able to do the same thing but it's not.
