Fried amp?

Ide Say the Spark was blue(ish). Was pretty significant definitely made me regret not having the proper connectors and rigging it.

Either way, Yah im gunna disconnect the rem tommorow and test it disconnected to see if im getting a signal from the Radio. Hopefully i do and then ill try jumping the power power and rem. From what im understanding i can jump it simply by connecting a short length of wire from the power to the rem? and at that point if the amp turns on its pretty much i fryed the rem on the deck?

I tested the rem when it first happened and got no light but im hoping i did something wrong testing it. gunna try that jump and hopefully it works and ill just switch the rem to the red switched on the deck harness.

Thanks everyone for serious answers!

Ive got a DMM im gunna use on the Rem tommorow so i should be able to determine with it whether the HU is sending a signal or not. When you say "rem is bad" and "HU not sending any signal" what is the difference? Do you mean the actual Rem terminal on the amp when you refer to Rem?

The remote wire. It may have been pinched somewhere and broken as it's a very thin wire. happened to my friend's jeep this past summer. His amp wouldn't turn on. I jumped the power to the remote and it turned on. I check the remote wire at the HU and it was fine so I pull the remove wire and found what looked like a weak spot. Stripped the insulation and found all the copper strands broken at that point. I believe he's saying that's a better alternative than the HU itself being damaged in that regard.

Not if he splices into the switched power (red wire) and not the constant power(yellow wire). Also, I'd check the remote right away by jumpering it from the power wire. Really simple, easy test to do and no reason to hold off on it.
that's what i was referring to. the amp will turn on and off with the key, so when you MANUALLY turn the deck off, the amp will still be on to play whatever electrical noise there is, and if you have the acc/ign on and the car not running, it can just drain the battery that much faster. it's rare that most would find the need to shut it off, but there are times when you want to, and can't without removing the wire.....plus, it would make for a handy "cop-switch" or whatever you want to call it.
