Frequency in songs

what do you guys use to figure out what frequency a note is in a song? I figure an audio editing program? But which one?

Also does anyone know the notes in Bone Crusher's "grippin grain"?

Great song for bass demo's btw at least in my car, and I like how the bassline actually is a little interesting compared to alot of other typical ones with a single main note

btw maybe we ought to have a "Music" forum? As there isn't really a good place right now for questions like these/song list threads/etc anyone else feel the same?

you would use a spectrum analyzer. you could buy a program to use with your protools or logic or w/e you use as you would like any plug-in.

well not everyone has the 700 to purchase one....whether used or new...

audacity will do it. very easy and will "snap" to the key frequencies.
