freq/etc

Do you have a choice for high pass or low pass (LPF or HPF)? If so, you would want to choose high pass. This will allow only the frequencies above the selected frequency to be reproduced by the amp.

Depending on the speaker, I would choose somewhere between 50 and 100. The lower you choose, the more bass you will get. However, if you go too low, you may get distortion at higher volumes.

If there is no high pass/low pass option, then it is a sub amp. It is a low pass only. Then it would just be playing bass frequencies. You'd want to put it as high up as possible then if you still want to use it, but I wouldn't suggest it.
