Apparently the opinions of a few people at fiberglass forums are so sacrosanct that any questioning these opinions being passed off as undenialbe fact will be cause for being accused of picking a fight and it takes a whole 3 posts beginning with an innocuous comment to get you banned there.

I'd been lurking the site for a week or two and joined a few days ago. I was looking through crazy4ozs worklog thread (same trunk build up as on here) when I came across a comment from one of the oldheads on there saying that crazy wasn't doing it right. I commented that there are multiple ways to go about things and one of the other older members got all butt hurt and decided that since I was new to their forum and they didn't know anything about me that I was just some schmo off the street and I had no place questioning the almighty forum god. I simply replied that regardless of his experience his opinion was still just that, opinion and just because he went about things a certain way that it wasn't the ONLY way. Apparently this line of reasoning isn't permitted, because my posts were deleted. I made one more post along the lines of "WTF!?! Why is this even a public forum if certain members, based on their fiberglassing experience and time on the forum, are allowed act all high and mighty and anything post that doesn't amount to kissing their *** will e deleted." That got me banned. Reason: not knowing when to quit. I guess they have such a fragile hold on their "power" over there that anyone pointing out that they don't know everything and that knowlege doesn't give them the right to treat someone else on the forum with disrespect is a banning offense.

Oh well. I can't say I'll miss them. I've never been a big fan of arrogant pricks anyway. Funiest part is all I really said to kick the whole thing off is pretty much "while I agree that he may be going about things the hard way, that doesn't make it the wrong way." I guess there is only one way to do things anymore. I probably should trade in my car and get an Escalade and put it on 22s and call it custom since there's only one way. I should probably get the exact equipment of the SPL record holder and the same vehicle and build the exact same system since there is only one way to go about things... Idiots.

Nice ... I was banned from a few vehicle-specific forums because I argued about car audio ... Many of them called me a "n00b" ... LOL
Anyways, it's the internet, take it with a grain of salt ... I was pretty pissed when I got banned, then I realized that if they don't want factual information, then that's their loss ...

I just though it was funny that the site admin simply looked at my post count and who I was commenting about and decided that I had no right to question this guy when he comes into another guys build log and says "that's not the right way to do it' and nothing more. He doesn't suggest an easier or faster way. Nope just "that's not right." I point out the possibility that maybe there's more than one "right way" and that if the results are good then the way was probably right and that equated to picking a fight. I wonder what would have happened if I had said that I worked with the Fishman instead of "I don't have much glassing experience but that isn't the point..."

Second of all Rza banned your *** because you wouldnt drop it and kept crapping up the thread. Maybe you didnt get the hint the first 3 times he deleted your posts in the thread? How the hell you gonna join the forum and your first 3 posts are attacking dbornotdb, who is a senior mod on the forum LOL. Then you come here to try to incite a riot to that forum? Several of the forum mods over there are Team Ramrod members including myself so nice try.

and iirc dbornotdb made a comment about the proper way to design something and you were like who are you......... So Rza asked what your background on the subject was. I think thats a valid question when you are telling a fabricator that is teaching a less expierienced fabricator proper technique that he is wrong.

and BlackJesus that site is housed on MY server so before you talk shit keep in mind I will involve the authorities and prossecute to the fullest and it will be directed towards you if my server even has a hiccup since you made that comment.

fiberglassforums have only banned 2 people since it started. Jalverson the scammer, and HeloTaxi who joined the forum just to attack dbornotdb. He made absolutley no other posts but attacking him. Since it appears that you never read my posts in the 20min or so before they were deleted how do you even know what I said. I never attacked anyone. dbornotdb/epicenterdesigns said nothing more than "that's not right" and I merely suggested that maybe there is more than one way to do something. If that is attacking someone, then I have proven my point, the egos over there are a bit on the fragile side. The funny thing about it was that he wasn't the one that even took issue. He probably understood what I was saying. It was the admin, who had no reason to even say anything that started shit. It was quite obvious that I was not questioning dbornotdb/epicenterdesigns's expertise but simply pointing out what should have been obvious to anyone with a bit of life experience. Rza took something the wrong way and decided that someone is only worth the number on their post count. At that point I don't think it would have mattered what I had said at that point.
If you honestly think that I have nothing better to do with my time than go and spam a site that I had hoped to actually learn something from then you really are clearly more pathetic than you seem to think that I am. And then to think that I would resort to trying to start something between two forums...grow up. Just because you would consider doing somehing of that sort doesn't mean the the rest of us are that petty. It's called venting. I was frustrated because the admin of a web forum got all butt hurt because I pointed out a simple fact and then wouldn't back down when he started crap. Based on his demonstrated lack of sound and reasonable judgement, might I suggest replacing your admin. I'm thinking he really needs a reality check.

You also obviously have no idea as to what actually happened as far as the deletion of posts goes. I made the initial comment which RZA incorrectly construed as an affront to his hero and came back with basically "who the eff are you to question anything he he says? You only have one post so you aren't anything." I reply to simply clarify that my initial post was misunderstood and both posts get immediately deleted. My final post was nothing much more than a WTF? I guess I hit a nerve with Rza when I onfronted him with irrefutable fact for which he had no comeback. The only way he thought he could save face was to ban me. If disagreeing with the admin on something that has nothing to do with the conduct of the site and ammounted to nothing more than a difference of opinion with a person suffering from a serious case of hero worship is deserving of a ban without a warning when no terms of service were violated then good riddance. Not a group I want to be associated with. I will gladly wear the ban as a badge of honor.

I wasn't in any way questioning his experience or expertise, and he wasn't teaching anything and I never in any way suggested that he was wrong, in fact I agreed that his way would probably be easier, but easier and harder do not define right and wrong. Saying that something is wrong because it isn't the easiest way is a very narrow view of things and coming in to a thread and saying nothing more than "that's not the right way to do it" worded exactly that bluntly is rude at best and arrogant at worst. Being able to spot rudeness and arrogance has nothing to do with fiberglassing experience last I checked, thus me stating that my experience was beside the point, but you never say the posts so how would you know what I said... He drops into a thread and says "that's not the right way" and nothing more. He wasn't teaching anything or even making constructive criticizm. It was merely criticizm. All I suggested is that there is not one single way to do something. I don't need a ton of experience to realize that there are multiple ways to do something and get a good result. The whole concept of results are more important than process. But I guess that you are incapable of thinking for yourself, too, and can only directly reproduce something using an exact set of explicit instructions are have never heard of personal technique. I guess you are also of the opinion that every fabricator out there does everything the exact same way. If you don't understand my point then you seriously need to reevaluate your concept of how reality works.

I'll agree with ya helo , I don't particularly care for the attitude of some users there. I like don dbornotdb , he can be abrasive at times. But he also is a sensible man . I have talked with him on here about different ways of doing things several times . Learned a couple tricks , but still do some things different. That's part of fabrication. I got the panish inquisition after my first or second post after suggesting a different way of doing something, and haven't been back since. I don't have many posts anywhere on any of these message boards. Guess that means I know nothing. I can accept that fact.
