Fourth or sixth order ?

Granted I will do the build but will pay for the plans. I can design regular ported boxes but never tried a 4th or 6th. Subs will be ab xfl 10's off 1 k each. Car is a 97 civic coupe I can use all the trunk space if needed (all I'm sure) port will be forward firing and sealed off from the trunk. I'm not going to compete but would like to see a good number when I do go to shows. I mostly listen to old school (90's ) hip hop. I do love some 90's Rock also but my front stage will take care of most of that. I know the xfl's are quite stiff and that's why I was contemplating a 6th.

I don't think you will have room for a 6th back there. You can do a 4th though.

If I used all the available space I was thinking I could get 2 .5 cubes in the rear chamber and around 4 in the front. But I know sixths can be very finicky and peaky if they arent perfect.

very true if the designer does not have much experience with them. They are actually really simple once you figure them out.

That's what i was leaning towards , I'm not looking to kill 20 hertz or anything but I'd like a nice flat response from the low 30's up into the 60's where my midbass will take over.

And if you run a 6th order you can easily shred the softparts

You don't need a bandpass for that.

Ok I'll rephrase a bit. I would like to catch the lows with authority like my old fi Q 12 did (2.5 cubes @ 30 hertz) but not have the terrible roll off it did past 45. That's why I was thinking a fourth , plus I've never built one and would love to try it for the first time.
