minimizing hatch rattle

So my sisters tC has two dd 1508s in a hatch pushed up against the back seats. The hatch rattles really bad though......if I put the box up against the hatch with the subs and port facing the front of the car would it make it rattle less?

Or do I just need to break down and get deadning?

You can play around with the position of the box and see what rattles less, but chances are if it rattles less it may not be as loud. The only real fix is to isolate the rattle. Take the plastic/ carpet off and get a good look at it. Sometimes it's something you can easily fix like a piece of plastic rattling against the frame, sometimes it is the actual metal flexing which requires deadening. It seems like a lot of money for little benefit but no rattle = better sounding bass = may actually sound louder to your ear.
