How much would a new alternator cost? Is it worth it?
Would the 625W (or whatever it was exactly) not be enough? I'm not trying to make it as loud as possible, I'm just trying to make it sound good, and have decent volume for daily driving...

Somewhere between $100 - ~$400ish. Yes.

I'd send that Brahma more power than that. Even though I'm sure it would perform fine with 625 watts. Wire the sub down to 2 ohms and run it off the 1200.1.

1 ohm or 2 ohm, the 1200.1 will put out the same amount of power.

At 1 ohm it tends to **** a lil' more current though.

yeah u cant wire a brahama single to 2 ohms so 1ohms

it's a '95 lumina (lol shhhh)
I'm rather restricted on spending at the moment, and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be using this car, so I don't want to be spending money on anything that isn't really necessary. Later I may take it down to 1 ohm, but I think 4 ohms would be fine for a while...

Yep, it'll work.

Nothing wrong with a Lumina - my "company car" if you want to call is a 97 LTZ and I like it.

yeah i got a hifonics hercules running at 4 ohms right now it bumps im waiting till I get my alternator to till i drop it to 1 ohm

real quick question here......

a subsonic filter(actually improper term for what it does..hehe..can't remember the actual term, will look it up) protects the subs by cutting off the lower freqs(usually ones we can't hear anyway)....yet,,,the bigger the sub, the easier it is for it to reproduce those signals. why use a filter on 15s?.....btw...my filter is set at 33hz, of course i'm using 8's!

The subs are 12's with 1000 total watts RMS, if that helps.
