Forming fiberglass

Yea, thats Mecha Godzilla
I have some ideas flowing through my brain and I'm going to need fiberglass to make these ideas spring to life.

I need a cylinder of fiberglass. How could I form one from another object? I don't want the fiberglass to be glued to whatever I use as my template.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Vasaline...

or if you form it outt cardboard you can wait till it dries, then soak it for a day on pull the cardboard out since it'd be mush...

if you are worried about it stick to something, use masking tape, than cover that with tin foil to cover that and the fiberglass should come right off the tin foil

dont use strapping tape, i find masking tape to work well, but ive heard people's stories about it being bad, same with duct tape. Yeah WD-40 works as a release agent too, you could use that.

cover with masking tape.

spray some kind of lube (wd40, cooking spray) or rub some wax, vasaline or other lube on it.

wax is the best, but its the hardest to apply. maybe tape waxpaper down and spray the masking tape with lube stuff - that would work

at home depot, they have 'sonotubes' that are some really large diamaters of cardboard tubing if that helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you could use a router to cut out like four or six circles of any size out of MDF or any other wood for that matter. then use a couple more pieces of wood to screw them together in a straight line, then wrap poster board around them. then coat the poster board with vasaline and glass away!

i'm thinkin about trying that
