Hello, I just bought a ford 500 (2005) and I noticed a few things different about installing a head unit. I installed my head unit in my 2000 Ford Taurus and I just had to do some rewiring back to the factory amp and then basically only had one wire from the car to the headunit's wireharnes. I wired those up and all was well. Well me being a novice in car audio I really am not sure about anything else. I looked into replacing the stock head unit to my pioneer mvh-x360bt and when I saw people taking the factory out there were two harnesses from the head unit (apart from the antenna). I am not sure what the second one is for, maybe it's for the steering wheel controls? Here is a video of what i'm talking about:
I am doing this mainly because I want a left and right output to my subwoofer amp.
I am not tooooo worried about the steering wheel controls as I really don't ever use them, but if someone can convince me on what I need to buy and how to install it to make those controls work, I might do it.
I will be buying my dash kit:

and my wire harness:

Let me know if I am missing anything...
Another question I have is, is there a known place to put my power wire through the fireplate of my car, even if I have to drill through it? I was told to go through the rubber grommit of the steering wheel, but I thought that it could be hazardous.. When I did it to my tauraus I had to wire it under the car to the front, which is ghetto and I don't want to do that again...
