ford escape, enclosure advice

im looking for ideas on what style enclosures have truly worked well for spl in ford escapes. and i dont want to just hear subs up and port back. if anyone actually has experience with them as far as sub and port placement please chime in and let me know. im experimenting with some boxes right now but the car is new to me and not sure where to go with it. it will be for two twelves ported of course, with a use of no more than 5 cubic feet. the subs now are premier 3002 subs, which apparently dont like more than about 1.8 cubic feet per sub so ill base it off that. thanks in advance for any help.

is it just simply subs up port back on bottom? aero or slot ports?

Subs facing up, port facing up. We did 2 different boxes, one with a slot and one with a 10" aero. The slot port was a lot louder, but I won't make any guarantees of what will work better in your app.

and slot port is most likely what ill have to go with. i built an amp rack that also houses my extra battery, leaving my usable depth to about 18 inches external. therefore i can bend a slot port. i dont mind using this style, not too keen on aero ports

and did you elevate the box for a reason or were your amps under there or something?

It was tuned to 37, and it was elevated because there's a dip in the floor, and we put the batteries under the box.

Sub and port back worked well in my ex's.

i think i may build a good box with the sub and port on the same plane, at 18 inches high and deep externally. therefore i can actually turn the box to test both ways (sub and port up, and sub and port back.) thanks for the info guys. any others please chime in.

hmmm. a month is pushing it. ill probably build two boxes by the end of the week. but when you get it going let me know how it does and what type of design youre using.
