For those of you who have run flat walls

Where do you tend to see the biggest gains in output running a flat wall vs traditional subs in the back? Whether it's originally a trunk car or SUV. (I'd prefer SUV answers, but any will do). I'm trying to get a feel for what a wall will do for my cabin gains so I have an idea what kind of box space/tuning/design choice I need to go with. I know the low end response will jump ALOT due to the much smaller cabin, but I'm not sure what goes on up high, or at what frequency. This will be a B pillar wall, only extending to the end of the pillars, so basically pulling out the back seats and putting a wall right there, leaving most of the cargo area. So I' can't get fancy and do a clamshell or anything as I have no depth to play with, at least compared to my height and width.

 
Normally peak freq goes up, so not sure why you think low end response will jump up a lot. Smaller area/less distance for waves to propagate...

What subs, how much power, what are you goals for the set up?

 
Smaller vehicles will push ,aim the upper peak up on a meter I'm sure but the general gain down low should start higher up too. Just like most small vehicles hit low notes easier than big ones. I know I've seen plenty of vids with guys tuned in the mid 30's doing hairtrick at 25-30hz in walls.

Anyway probably thinking 2 21's on around 4kw. I've always been a music person and if things aren't fairly balanced it bugs me. Looking for a fairly flat response from at least 60-25. Not a fan of major peaks at 40hz like alot of vehicles seem to have, if anything I'd rather peak up higher at like 60 and closer to 30 on the low side than simply destroy 35-45 like alot of cars do and **** above and below. My subs are very effecient up top and low Q and should be capable of mid 140's at high as 100hz anyway just because of their raw efficiency.

I agree with the other guy.

The lows do not increase when adding a wall. Your cabin pressure changes. Though their are some things you can do to accomplish getting the lower end.

I just went from 2 12s in the trunk to 2 18s walled. The low end was better with the 2 12s but the 18s thrive in 35+ hz. Not saying the low end is non existant, but when I walled it, the natural Fs of the car changed significantly.
