for some reason i have 4 ohm subs

would it be possible to just use a 2 ohm impedence instead of a 4 ohm impedence to save me money....would the effects be noticiable...like a huge difference in sound quality?

what do u mean? buying 2ohm subs instead of a 4ohm? or running ur amp(s) at a 2ohm load vs. 4ohm? are your subs single voice coil or dual?either way your ohms on your subs aren't going to effect sq.

ohms are a measure of resistance. 2ohms is smaller than 4ohms meaning less resistance. just like how 4inches are bigger than 2inches...ohms matter when it comes down to how you wanna wire your amp.

thats the only play they have in it...so could i take a 4 ohm impedence dual voice coil 600 watt rms sub and run it at a 2 ohm load...its not gonna make a difference is it? or do i have give it a 4 ohm load

what type of amp do u have and what are the specs? its not gonna make a difference on the subs. but if ur amp cant play at 2ohms then ur gonna kill it. the lower the ohms usually the more power ur amp puts out. so if you run at 2ohms ur sub might not be able to take the power and u'll blow that 2.

oo well i didnt get amps yet....i aquired the subs from my brother in law and saving money for amps thanks for all ur help.....im def gonna go under the rms by around 200 under to be safe

its a JBL grand touring 1200 watt GTI 12" subwoofer i have two

its 1000 watt intercooled thats the peak right?

4 ohm

sensitivity=93 db

frequency response=35-300 HZ

recommended minimum enclosure volume=1 3/4 cu ft

voice coil diameter is 4 inch

anything else u need?
