FOR guys running more than 2k daily

Why cant you tape them with electirical tape?
heat..??

though i was not aware 2000w+ would me you CANT use electrical tape, if your wiring is good there should be no heat......but while dealing with 0AWG electrical tape is not what should be used i guess, lol

Electrical tape is made to withstand heat, but 1/0 has enough weight pull behind it that electrical tape doesn't have the counter-elasticity to hold up. Use solid crimped connections and/or Class B or better threads for any bolts and you shouldn't have to check your connections more often than every few months. For connections in the pressurized area (ones being vibrated daily) I would check every couple/few weeks just because resonating sound waves have a tendency to undo anything that isn't Class C threading and/or welded

I do not agree. i work pipeline construction and one of my jobs has been to work on leads and change out whips and stingers and i have patched alot of leads with electrical tape and you got to welding 8 hours strait non stop and that wire gets so hot you cant touch it and electrical tape hold up. even the inspectors that come and stab your leads with a dmm to make sure your operatin within parameters tape them up with electrical tape when they are done.. In the automatic machines we use 4/0 wire and run machins off 1 ground and those are electrical taped... having a hard timer seeing how 1/0 pulls so much that electrical tape wont work??? just curious

but i do agree if you have it done right and connections are solid i rarely check mine and have NEVER had anything remotely loose and never had a bit of heat as far as connections go
