That's because you're stupid. Sooooo stupid that you don't even realize what you are arguing about or who you are arguing with. I know several members here who race and are just dying laughing at your nonsense. You're a poser. Just another loser pretending to know this, that, or the other just because of something you read on the internet. You embarrass yourself so badly it almost makes me cringe.

yea and none of them worry about gearing huh.

in what car exactly? everything makes a difference. tire size to rear end. simply put you want the gear ratio optimized for the greatest acceleration. cas with more low to midrange torque are naturally gear lower and longer with less gears.. while your high HP cars like lambo are lower shorted gear ratios with more gears.
You know nothing bro. Nothing.

let me see that facts? you think your the only one who knows about racing?

Default Re: Rear gear ratio effect on ET/MPH

Really depends on the combo. I think the converter plays the biggest role in it.

My buddy had a 3800lb car with a mild 305 and a stockish converter. Rear gear was 2.70. Car would go 15.1 using 1st and 2nd only at the track.

We swapped to a 4.11 rear gear with no other changes. Car went 14.4 at the same MPH and used all 3 gears.

Rear gear ratio effect on ET/MPH - Yellow Bullet Forums

post number 7.. from real racers..

Nope not even a little bit. Everyone runs 2.42 gears at the track for maximum mph.
2.2 is't the gear ratio. gear ratio in hte transmission are from the input shaft to specific gears ratio. The rear end is a whole different ball game. changing just the rear end when you have change the torque curve and HP curve cna help but your going to get better results re gearing the actual transmission t match the torque/hp curve alot of people do do it because its a pita and very expensive..

imitate is to reproduce someones actions or act like someone. emulate is to recreate something. I want to emulate his 1/4 mile time because i want to beat him.

vs

I will imitate his driving style because he is the best..
So you can't read?

And now he is making me look like a jack a$$. I can do that on my own just fine
Agreed, you are a jackass

Like I said. You know nothing. Just like everything else, you think you're an expert because you read a page or two on the internet. Fvcking try hard to the fullest. I'm gonna run to Chick-fil-a and grab some sammiches. I'll be back to own your ass some more in a few.

dude. these guy race. i know guys who race. i provide proof to back my claims then you say i read on the internet and know? wtf are you smoking if me and 1000 or people say we experienced it and its been verified by a source I DON'T KNOW THERE IS NO BETTER PROOF TO PROVIDE SAID INFORMATION IS CORRECT.

YOU REFUSE TO ADMIT I DO KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT I CAN FIND 1000s OF PEOPLE WHO AGREE GEAR RATIO AND REAR END ARE IMPORTANT.

ive never seen or heard of anyone ever doing that, maybe swapping transmissions to go to a powerglide bit ive never seen what your describing in drag racing circles in 25 years
Some guys have custom transmissions built some guys use after market transmissions.

the point is you can no doubt increase 1/4 mile times through ideal gearing.
