For a tiny box... Tang Band W8740 8" or JL Audio 6w3-4 6.5"

You may have seen my other thread. Small box under the rear seat of a 1976 BMW. Its a sealed box with .15 cubic feet of space. It was designed with the JL Audio 6w3 in mind. I wanted a little more volume and maybe a little deeper bass so I was thinking of putting an 8" driver in it and the Tang Band 740P seems to be the best 8" driver for that amount of space. The 8" is cheaper, and handles more power...so am I better off with the Tang Band 8? Or is the JL Audio 6.5 gonna give me a better sound in that small of a box? The reviews of the JL Audio are that it sounds as good as a cheap 8...

it takes space to make bass lol do you have any speakers in your rear deck ? would you concider trading those out for a pair of 8" subs free air playing up thru the rear deck speaker holes ?

A 6w3 is a ****** little woofer, I think it smashes the tang band

If you can fit a Sundown SD 8 in there it will out perform both of those other 2. It isn't optimal for the Sundown but it would still do alright in that box with some fill. Lower distortion due to underhung motor and the most output potential. Its more expensive though. Of the 2 you have listed I would go with the Tang band. Or I'll add the tang band 6.5 in there. Its a killer little driver and would be perfect in that box. Its cheaper too.

Sd2 is a great choice, if you want I have a pair of the tang band 6.5 I'd get rid of.

I am not going with either…after weeks of research I think the magic sub for me and this box will be the Alpine Type R 8". Will work in .15 cubic feet, handles lots of power and should go deeper than the JL 6.5". Oh and cheaper. Don't have anything in the rear deal, can't cut the rear deck because its a vintage car and I don't want to cut anything I don't have to. Also common for these cars is exhaust being ****** into the trunk and it there is anything holes from the trunk to the car it'll smell ilk exhaust in the car. I have heard of the smell getting through the cones of the speakers in the rear deck. SD-2's were in the running, more than I wanna spend and the box is smaller than the minimum requirements.
