Hey everyone from Caraudio Forums.

I recently turned 18, and I just got my first car. And of course the first upgrade I'm going to make on the car, is the Audio System.

So heres the system i am going to purchase:

Reciever: Kenwood DDX814

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/eXcelon/Mobile_Video_n_Navigation/DDX814

Speakers: Focal k2 Power 165 KRX2

http://www.focal-america.com/ (Go to Products --> Speakers --> K2 Power --> 165 KRX2)

Amplifier: JL HD600/4

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=482

Subwoofer: JL W6v2 10"

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=6

Amplifier: JL HD750/1

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=483

I realy wanted top end equipment, thats why I chose Focal and JL Audio, because as far as I know, they are the leading brands for Car Audio.

And for all the wiring, I’m going for MONSTER CABLE. And heres what I think I will need to hook it all up:

Head Unit to Speaker Amplifier:*

PowerQuip Cable Adapters:*

I would appreciate if you guys could tell me if thats all i need to hook all the system on my car and if I’m not missing any important components for the wiring.

Thanks a lot of the attention //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You don't need a crapacitor nor cable adapters. Everything else is ok, if you want to spends lots of money. I you don't, just go for kicker hyperflex 2 amp 1/0 kit, better quality than monster and cheaper.

150$ for an RCA cable? That should be closer to 20...
Seriously dude, do yourself a favor and forget the name Monster. Yeah they make good stuff...but so do a lot of other companies! (for a lot cheaper)

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif you could get a decent fuckin battery for that price ha

To hook up the two JL Audio amplifiers, using StreetWires gear i was thinking using a solid dual-amp wiring kit like this one.

And to route the cleanest signal from the Kenwood receiver’s preamp outputs to the JL Audio amps with three RCA patch cables like this:

And lastly speaker wire to connect my Focal speakers and JL Audio sub to their respective amps. For that I was thinking on going with some heavy 12 gauge wire like this:

Which of the 2 kits do you guys think i would be better of with? In terms of quality?

Cheers! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

Taking away the money factor, which of the two kits do you guys reckon i should go for?

Street Wires or Monster Cable?
