focal 27kx

I found a focal 27kx at a local shop thats goin out of business for $400, they sold it for $900 regular and woofersetc has it for $650. Ive been split on spl or sql for the new car but with this deal I just might go with sql but before I make the jump I was wondering if anyone has any info about this sub. Even though it is a sql sub im just wondering if it does get a bit loud and how the power handling on it is.

The power handeling is pretty high, but I don't think they can get TOO loud. One would be enough for me, but don't expect SI-MAG levels of output from it.

I'd love to hear that. What part of Texas are you from?

I'm not an expert on Focal by any means but I don't think I would go so far as to call that an SQL sub.

Im in TN now. Used to live in TX I just never changed my thing on here. As for weather theyre an sql sub or not im not 100% sure myself its just from bits ive seen here and there that I thought they were. The main reason im a bit iffy about getting it is nearly everything is sold off the boards etc so I cant listen to it before buying it and theres no returns. Im stuck between this or a 15" btl.

The focal sub will get loud as long as you give it plenty of power. They are also very clean subs. I would go for it as long as they ensure that it hasn't been abused.

I could stick a a3000db on it which I think would be overkill for it or a mtx ta7402 and just buy a new amp for the components.
