Hey guys. I don't know if you remember me but i was deciding before whether to get an 18 and try to fit it in my trunk. I was gonna get a suv but that didn't go as planned. I just got a new car. Its a 2002 ford focus zts. So it looks like its time for a new sub. I have a sundown for power. I was thinkin maybe i could do an HD3 12in with the dual 1.5 coils. Would that be enough power for it? A Sundown at .75? Or would i need more power for this sub. If this isn't enough power suggest some new subs for me. My budget is around 350 but if i need more cash i could always get some. And then cheaper the better but i want a quality sub. I'm pretty sure i'm gonna go with a 12in because the trunk is not to big in the focus and i don't think i could fit a 15 in. So suggest me some subs. And i would like to run the sundown to its fullest potential which is under 1 ohm.

You think i could fit a 15 into the focus. I'm tryin to save as much room as possible but not lack output. The trunks aren't that big. Its smaller then my grand ams trunk

Yea its a four dour 02' ford focus zts. Did the box take up his whole trunk? What size was the box and what power was he using? I got a sundown for power so i figure if i get the dual 1.5 i can get around 1700 to 1800 watts out of it which should be enough for a hd3 don't you think?

I'm running an HD315 off a SD at .75ohm and it gets hella loud and sounds good doing it. Amp does around 1750watts at .75ohms

Also picked it up from jmanjr, good seller.

Do some measuring and see how much space you really have. DJ from AQ said a good daily box would be 4^3 @ 37-40Hz.

I ended up doing 4.5^3 @35hz and I was willing to give up some output for SQ. VERY happy with the AQ sub...

And the new flash in ANOTHER happy customer with AQ....I think in your car you would be happy with a 12 man honestly its plenty loud and you wanted to save space, you can do a 2cube box tuned at 38hz and your car MAY rattle apart...a single 12 is capable of a 148.3...I have done it perhaps more if I took the time on my box to fix a few things, either or man you should be happy

Yea im still thinkin wheter to do the 12 or 15. I have a couple days to decide cuz i won't get the money till the middle of the week so decisions decisions. I'm pretty sure i could fit a 15 but i don't know about 4.5 cubes. I could prolly fit 4 cubes. Would there really be a huge difference between the 12 and 15? And for the 12 i should do a 2 cube box cuz of heard of people goin up to 3.5 cubes with them.

mainly depends on the power, but from DOING the 12 100% correct and doing the 15 90% correct (install dependant) the 12 was louder and took up less space, I would say the 12, because of the power and such it will fit easier, if you had tons of power you could do 3.5 cubes on the 15, but you dont, I would say given the power you have the 12 will be sick in 2.0cubes tuned at 38hz

I can only speak for my self, I have done an AQ HD3-12 Dual 1.5 in 1.5 cubes after displacement tuned at 40hz with an american bass vfl400.1 on it and it was fine pulled off a 148.3, but I am trying new things, more power bigger woofers etc....

Well things are gonna have to be put on hold for right now. Everything was stolen out of my car last night. So i have to file an insurance claim and see what happens. This really sucks to have everything jacked.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif
