FM Reception with new amp

Hoping someone will be able to help me out...

I just installed an Alpine CDA9885, a JL 500/1 with a JL 10W3.

Anyway, FM reception is perfectly fine when the amp is off. As soon as I turn the amp on, FM goes to shit. I don't get it.

Any ideas?

The switching of the amp is occurring in the FM freq region.

Is there anything I can do to fix the problem??

I've tried running a seperate ground outside the car for the amp right to the battery, that actually made things worse....

Is there a noise issue when playing a CD?

Doesn't appear to be a noise issue with CD's or iPod.

Just radio frequency...

Would there be a different remedy if I had noise with CD's as well? Haven't had a lot of time to listen to it. And now that you mention it, there may be one song that sounds like it has some noise to it... Kind of like way back in the day, with casettes, and you'd have to turn the "Dolby noise reduction" on, kinda noise. I dunno, it's definately not the drastic change like with radio reception.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
