florida guys help me out some plz. need info for vacation

my wife, 11yr old daughter and myself are thinking of driving 15hrs to jacksonville in march for a fam trip. ive looked on the net and looks nice and stuff to do there and around there. some red train ride to st augustine looks nice, zoo, other places. is jacksonville a safe place to stay for 3-4 days? looking for mostly inexpensive sight seeing things to do. beach, zoo, museums? any info is appreciated guys. thanx

Lot of ghetto in Florida. General rule for the east coast is that from Rt. 1 east is pretty nice, from rt 1 inland can start to look like haiti...

Through most of the touristy parts of FL it's an "isolate and contain" strategy. Ghetto activities are confined to their own sections, cops rarely go in but will wait outside and pull over people who don't live there as they leave and bust them.

Just my .02$ Can't really say what there is to do up that far north as I haven't spent much time in that part of the state. Generally though, hotels are cheap, food is reasonable, and the oranges are killer.

cant really say much bout the north, cuz i lived in miami.... but the rt 1 rule that he's talking about really does apply
