so speaking about flac.

what do you guys hear about it?

anyone got some good news for flac and/or other lossless format support?

and i dont mean thru ipod

yes ipod can play lossless but the decoding is done on the ipod and sent to the head unit.

unfortunately not everyone has or wants to use an ipod.

i prefer USB because i dont have to encode my whole collection into a format that is only supported by ONE media player.(ipod/iphone)

so far i have tortured pioneer reps on other forum but they are not giving in and no clear answers from them.

dont know about any other brands.

because i will be the first one to grab one of the flac supporting headunits when it appears i promise you that.

the only problem is i dont see any...

i can see im not the only smartass here how is your day MR OK?

was the OK for: "i didnt understand what you asking"

or for "i just trying to score some NFSU style points so i post 2 letter comments allover the board?"

Don't worry about him. He contributes very little.

& to take a shot at your question, I doubt you'll find any headunit that directly supports FLAC format.

In our day & age, everyone is all about saving space, compressing.. etc etc.

People claim every day "192kbs sounds the same as FLAC!".. which we know is funny.

But like I said.. I doubt there is a single headunit that supports FLAC. Good luck finding one.

lol good luck trying to find that one.

looks like its out of business.

the only other option i know of is car pc but thats hella money.

and i still cant figure out how to connect all that

Mine does Wav and Apple Lossless just fine on the Alpine CDA-9987 and CDA-9885 that I have in my two cars. My fiancee's Clarion DXZ785USB also plays them.

WARNING: Just because iTunes can play 24 bit wav files does not mean that you can do this through the HU. I locked my 9887 tighter than a drum one day trying to play a 24 bit wav file. I had to reset the ipod and turn the HU off and on again to get it to start working properly.
