fitting a 15 inch in a narrow trunk

my trunk is 16" deep (at the top of the rear seats) with the back seats up. (it's probably like 24" at the bottom of the seat) anyway...

i'd like to get a 15" firing up.. how would you make that 15 fit comfortably in a trunk with so little space?

my trunk dimmensions are 16" deep, 40" wide, and 22" in height to the top of the seats (not including headrests)

Yep, you have around 6.6ft3 of gross volume.

Most 15's are 15.75-16" in OD so you could make it work, just no flush mounting is all.

Not really, the cut out is only around a 14 1/16 so there is plenty of room there.

I have not found many trunks that 15s work well in, normally we can make 2 12s or similar smaller setups much louder in trunks.

Not saying it can not be done, just typically not worth effort.

see that's my thing... i've been debating between a new enclosure for my 2 12's (fire up/port back), or just getting one 15. i've never ran a 15 so i wouldn't know how much of a difference i would expect over the 2 12's

I built a box for a pair of type r 12's subs up port up port in the middle for a liberty came out very good tuned at 35 gets low and loud with 1k does like a 140 but decently flat response.

my mom has an 07 liberty, you have plenty of room for a 15. you just need to figure out how to route your port so it's not right behind your sub, but that will be easy.

that's pretty much exactly what i got going on now.. idk what the db rating is on my setup, but i don't like having both the subs and port up
