Don't know what I could have messed up with a color-coded wiring harness, but...

You are using the stock harness? Ewww. do yourself one huge favor and bypass all that. Run a new hot wire to the fuse panel, and a new ground to the closest acceptable point.

Meh, maybe in my next install. I should be getting a new car soon, and I don't have anything in the truck right now besides the HU. Not really worth it unless I want t run a bunch of wires at once.

Had this happen to my brand new phone, was absolutely pissed off I dropped it while I had it in my lap (forgot I had it on my lap in my car, this shit always happens), got out the car and it dropped flat on the cement. Remote control is easy to replace, faceplates aren't. I use my remote often because it keeps my faceplate in mint condition.
