first time ive been pissed at car audio in a while

i worked on a buddies car tonight instead of going out, i came home... i go to get outta my car and my HU slips out of my pocket

it was in its little plastic case but that popped open and my flawless 880 faceplate now has scratches all over the buttons...

anyone ever have this happen? or do companies other than pioneer have better face plate cases?

I usually lock my HU faceplate in the glovebox. Yeah, I know not the best, but I figure it'll just be slightly more annoying for a potential thief. :lol:

That sucks, perhaps you can find a new faceplate on ebay?

or you could be like me...install a brand new cd5000. put a drink in a cup holder. place the eclipse remote in the other cup holder. then not 10 minutes into actually having the HU installed, have the shitty cup holder spill the drink on your remote....

then you've never used older eclipse HU's...

and thats saying something since the eclipse remotes **** some nuts. slowest communication between an HU and a remote ive seen.

try switching a track on an eclipse unit (cd5k, and similar units) on even a slightly bumpy road. one bump and you jump 5 tracks forward, then you try to go back and go 3 tracks back. pretty ridiculous.

cant say i dont love the unit though.

I feel for you. About a month ago I was moving this big mirror thing. Since I don't have room in my trunk I had to put it in my passenger seat. My car is small (2door escort), and the edge of the mirror scratched the shit out of my Alpine 9853 faceplate. I was pissed.
