Format Wars!

The AVS forum made it on television as they had to shut down that forum

section because the format wars [HD, blu-ray] was getting personal, people

going crazy.

Why do people defend these issues with such passion?

Look at history, we had CD, we got HDCD, get got SACD, we got DVDA,

etc.... which audio forum rules?

I don't care, I'll just snag a universal player and play all the formats because

universal players are dirt cheap.

What is the problem with the HD video wars? You have to camps throwing

fireballs at each other .......... Which one rules?

I don't care, I'll just snag a universal HD player [when they come out] and play

either format..........

Your are correct, its actually been out for a while, but it had a lot of bugs when it came out, no idea how it is now...

On the forum I'm on they shut it down as well. Hometheaterforum.com and just recently opened it up again but with strict rules! People were literally threatning other peoples lives over the issue.

Samsung just came out with a new dual player that can read both formats as well that looks a lot cleaner and nicer then the LG IMO.

Is that player still 1200? I heard about that player a while back but it gets little if any press. I dont think there's even a commercial for it. I have no desire to pay 30 dollars a movie right now. Been down that road before.

Yeah people are passionate about a lot of things for no reason. you should see the stuff on ps3forums regarding ps3 vs xbox 360. I mean you would think they were getting paid or something. God forbid a game gets a bad review. Well I guess people have to be passionate about something.

Isn't it cheaper to actually buy a BR player and a HD-DVD player than to buy a combo player?
