First time doing this looking for some pointers

I have the cheapest assed, piece of shit car that money can buy. A datsun 210. i got it for $300. I really want to have a sound setup in my car but I don't want to pay over $200-250.

So...I've been looking around, and have found the setup I'm thinking about using but wanted to get some opinions from people who know more about this.

My biggest concern is that my little old car wont be able to power the freakin amp speakers and sub. I dont know if thats a valid concern, but just an idea.

Here is the product list I'm thinking on so far. Note I usually buy things from reading extensive product reviews and finding a price range i'm comfortable with.

AMP: BOSS CX1800 5-Channel 1800W $150 (after shipping)

SUB: PYLE 10" 600 watt

2 FRONT SPEAKERS: 4" Pyle 180 watt

2 BACK SPEAKERS: Pyle 6.5" 3 way speakers 360 watt

^

|___________ $65 for the above including shipping

$220 total (yay i know math!)

I don't have a car stereo, nor do I want one. Everything I need is on my iPod, so I'll be running a line out straight into the amp.

Thanks in advance for all your opinions.

You'll still need a box for the sub and wiring kit to run power to the amp and speaker wires to the speakers. You'll also want a mini stereo to RCA cord to run the ipod headphone out to the amps + a few Y splitters to split up the stereo signal to all the inputs on the amp.

What you picked is about as low-end as the car, but I suppose you don't expect much with that budget.

Don't even ask about that stuff. I honestly don't know why someone would come to this forum and ask for advice on whether or not pyle and boss is any good. If you read more than 2 threads from this forum you should know the answer.

No offense, but good luck on getting this done for under $250. Save your money and upgrade a little at a time. It will end up costing you more in the long run to fix it then just do it right to begin with.

I'm going to build my own box and I already have all the wires/cords and stuff (usually have a bunch of it laying around).

I'm not expecting it to be super high end...and yeah like i said i don't want to put too much into it as the car isn't even worth that much any more.

My main question is still unanswered, maybe it was to stupid to answer...IDK. Will this all **** too much power from the car?

EDIT: and thanks for all the pointers and ridicule. i wasn't asking if the stuff i listed was quality.

You got bigger worries than that dude.

We understand that your not looking for super high end. That would just be unreasonable on that budget. This doesn't mean that you can't do it right. Spend a couple extra dollars and buy some stuff that will outlast the car. That sub will probably last a week at best on half power (I assume).

There is no way for anybody here to know if your car will be able to power any kind of stereo. Too many variables. You can put a volt meter on your battery and see what kind of output your getting, but I don't see why any vehicle can't do some sort of aftermarket stereo.

Hope this helps.
