Box is 2.248 cubic ft net. Outer dimensions 31W x 15H x 16.25D, double baffle and second back wall because I need to mount the amps to it. Not doing flush mount cause Ill probably change the sub (RE SRX 12D2) soon. The 2nd baffle is internal.
Port is 2.5W x 13.5H x 36.25L according to RE's calculator. I thought you measure port lenght by going straight down the middle of it, which I come up with 34.25. The first port piece is 11.5W and the second one is 19.5W.
Had Lowes do all the major cutting. Luckily only one piece came out bad, and it was just over a little so I was able to just sand it down to size.
Used a jigsaw for the sub cutout. Took a small plank, drilled a hole in the center and one 5.5in away, put a screw through the center one and a pencil through the other to get my 11in circle. Of course RE was wrong about the circle cutout size for their own sub though lol. Needed about another 1/8th sanded off before it fit, then a little extra cause Im going to stuff the carpet in there.
Was going to try to cut 45s with the jigsaw since it can tilt, but probably wouldnt cut it straight enough, and not worth the headache.
I usually **** at painting stuff but I actually took my time painting the port, and that part came out really good. About 5 layers of grey primer, 5 layers of paint, then light sanding and repeated.
All I got left to do tomorrow is pre-drill, then glue and screw it together. How far apart should the screws be? I know to stay about 2in away from the corners, just not sure how far apart when going in the the width of the board. And when I connect the two baffles and the two back pieces, should I just do a random screw here and there?
