Well I just built my first system. I bought a Kenwood KDC-205 h/u. Blaupunkt PCA1350 300w mono amp, and a Polk db104 10" subwoofer. Topped it off with Monstercables.
Well when I first hooked the system up everything sounded great, at one point in time though my power cable slipped out of the spade terminal due to an insufficient clamp. Shortly after I realized my sub would sometimes not be on occasionally, just for a few seconds. After a while I noticed that I had to turn the h/u up to a certain volume for the sub to kick on, and it would be fine unless I turned off the car or turned the volume down too low. Gradually that volume needed to get the sub to kick on became higher and higher, now the sub does not come on at all. It strangely did the other day out of the blue when I got in to go somewhere, and the only thing I noticed that was different was it was really hot in my car. Hasn't worked since.
Amp is green light whenever my car is on, no protection or anything. I just don't know what I'm missing. The ground wire used to be long, but I regrounded with a bolt straight to the chassis so I know that can't be it... AUDIO GODS HELP ME!
