I like to look at pics of peoples installs on here so I figured Id post my own even though its not as nice as most Ive been viewing. Everything I put in is in my sig and it came to a total of $533 which includes all mounting, wiring and ampkit. Big thanks to djdilliodon and millionbuy who both have excellent service and prices.
No deadner was used but my doors already had some type of plastic lining which closes all the airpassages in the doors. I made adapters out of 3/4 mdf but had to power sand them down quite a bit plus I added just a bit of clay to make a solid seal. Doors actually dont rattle enough to bother me and its also not that loud outside the truck.
What really sucked was taking apart the truck and finding where to route the speaker/wires but im glad I did it because it will make it that much easier next time.
As for the sounds I installed everything at once so all I can say is the headunit plus tweeters come together to sound great and I do hear some things I was missing in the music before. When I turn it up to a decent volume I do here a bit of quality loss but not much however once I get to that point I can crank it up forever and it stays that loud and clear. After reading opinions on here the one thing I feared was that the midbass would be lacking but Im actually amazed. They are highpassed by the amp and it actually sounds as if theres a drum getting hit right in my car making my side mirrors vibrate. Blows away my stock system and adds a new level to music!
